PROPOSED FACTORY EXPANSION AT LEEMING BAR

Local soft drinks manufacturer, Cawingredients, has grown substantially over the past 12 years since production began, and now employs around 460 people on the Leeming Bar Business Park, the vast majority of whom live in Hambleton or the surrounding area.

To continue creating local jobs and apprenticeships, and contribute to Hambleton and North Yorkshire’s economic growth, the business has acquired land at Aiskew Moor, east of Leeming Bar and is looking to expand its operations with a new high-quality, bespoke facility in addition to its existing premises.

The proposed site has been allocated as an employment site by Hambleton District Council in its Local Plan. It is closely neighboured by residential properties in the village of Leeming Bar and Cawingredients wants to work closely with the local community as it develops these plans.

We held a period of public consultation from May to June 2022 to provide residents with the opportunity to have their say and shape the plans.

Update:

An initial planning application for the proposed site access was submitted to Hambleton District Council and subsequently approved. This can be viewed here.

The planning application for the factory will be submitted later in Spring 2023.
