Cawingredients manufactures and packs soft drinks and is an important employer within Leeming Bar, Hambleton and North Yorkshire.
It currently employs around 460 people at its existing operation on Leeming Bar Business Park, a large majority of whom live within a 30-mile radius of Leeming Bar.
Cawingredients is committed to creating high-quality jobs for local people and has a strong focus on apprenticeships. The business prides itself on being a good employer that trains and develops staff. The average fulltime salary is approximately £34,000 a year. Cawingredients currently employs 33 apprentices and a further 17 individuals have recently completed apprenticeships and become permanent employees.
Cawingredients has been looking to expand its operations for several years as its current factory is operating at full capacity. It has acquired the site at Aiskew Moor with the intention of building a new high-quality, bespoke facility to complement its existing factory. This operation will create a further 300-400 local jobs and apprentices and make an important contribution to Hambleton and North Yorkshire’s economy.
The expansion will represent a £100m investment in the local area, which will in turn help attract further investment and jobs, cementing Leeming Bar and North Yorkshire’s reputation as a key regional manufacturing hub. Sustainability will be an important element of the plans, with Cawingredients already firmly committed to minimising the environmental impact of its operations.
As a family business with long-standing roots in Leeming Bar, Cawingredients is committed to working closely with the local community to make sure the proposals meet the needs and aspirations of local people. It plans to create a community liaison group to strengthen its links with the community, provide regular updates on the development and involve the community in shaping the plans.
